Part of the CGCE Group
Lipo Doctors is part of the CGCE Group, which has been active in minimally invasive surgery since 2007. With the NATIONALKLINIK Wertheim as our centre of expertise and further locations in Dortmund, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Nuremberg and Waalre (NL), we offer specialised lipoedema treatment of a high standard across Germany.
What began as a vision is reality today: a network of experienced specialists, modern medical technology and a holistic treatment concept.

Medical vs aesthetic
Transparency matters to us: at Lipo Doctors, we draw a clear distinction between medically necessary lipoedema treatment and purely aesthetic procedures – both in how we communicate and in how we invoice.
What this means for you:
Under German rules, medically indicated liposuction with a confirmed lipoedema diagnosis counts as medical treatment and is exempt from VAT. Aesthetic procedures – e.g. on the abdomen, back or flanks – are subject to VAT. For combined treatments, we inform you openly about all costs.

What sets Lipo Doctors apart from other providers?
We are 100% specialised in the treatment of lipoedema. This means that our specialists, our processes and our whole team are focused on this condition. We don’t offer standard packages – instead, we develop an individual treatment plan for every patient, from the first examination to long-term aftercare.
Which group of companies does Lipo Doctors belong to?
Lipo Doctors is part of the CGCE Group, which has been active in minimally invasive surgery since 2007. The group also includes the NATIONALKLINIK Wertheim, the Westfalenklinik and the Klinik am Seestern, as well as other brands such as Weight Doctors and Hair Doctors.
Do you only treat women?
Yes. Lipoedema affects women almost exclusively – only isolated cases have been described in men. Lipo Doctors therefore treats only women with diagnosed lipoedema.
What qualifications do your doctors have?
We examine you and discuss our findings with you. For German statutory health insurance, the confirmed diagnosis is made by a specialist who is approved for this – we will tell you who can do this for you. Surgical treatment is carried out by specialists in Plastic and Aesthetic Surgery with many years of experience in treating lipoedema.
