In Dortmund we treat patients at the Westfalenklinik, a specialist clinic for plastic and aesthetic surgery belonging to the CGCE Group – on Rosemeyerstraße for more than 25 years. The clinic has its own surgical team and its own nursing staff, at night too. Depending on the extent, lipoedema surgery is performed as a day case or with one to two nights in the clinic.
The clinic is right on the B1/A40, very close to the Signal Iduna Park, with a parking deck on site and an underground connection. It is here for patients from Dortmund, the whole Ruhr area and the Sauerland.

- Via the B1/A40 to the Dortmund-Hombruch exit, then turn right into Wittekindstraße. After 700 m, turn right into Rosemeyerstraße – after 100 m the clinic is on the left.

- From the main station, take the U45 to Stadtgarten and change to the U42 to the stop “Theodor-Fliedner-Heim”. Follow Wittekindstraße to the next side street and turn right into Rosemeyerstraße – the clinic is on the left, best reached via the stairs to the parking deck.

Where will my lipoedema surgery in Dortmund take place?
At the Westfalenklinik, Rosemeyerstraße 2–4. Depending on the extent, the procedure is performed as a day case or with one to two nights in the clinic – cared for by our own nursing team, at night too. Consultation and aftercare take place in the same building.
Does health insurance pay for lipoedema surgery?
For patients with German statutory health insurance: since the decision of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) of 17 July 2025, liposuction for lipoedema has been covered regardless of stage, provided certain requirements are met. These include six months of documented conservative therapy, a stable weight and an upper BMI limit. If your costs may be covered, we coordinate the procedure through our NATIONALKLINIK in Wertheim – preparation and aftercare stay with us in Dortmund. You no longer need to submit an individual application to your health insurer.
